About Me

Bluma Janowitz is a woman who embodies a deep sense of creativity, curiosity, and introspection. A former automotive engineer with expertise in biofuel engines and Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO) technology, Bluma’s career has shifted toward more artistic and philosophical pursuits, including creating original art and starting a movement based on kindness. 

Bluma’s artistic endeavors span experimental fine art, embroidery, sculpture, fine jewelry, photography, and fashion design. Their work has been showcased in galleries, in their online shop and through various publications. Notable achievements include creating the second-ever cover photo for 2600 Magazine in 1996 and exhibiting a black-and-white photography series featuring vintage VWs.

Her lengthy experience in the hacking community has given her a unique insight into the long transition of technology. An active member of the hacking community since the 1990s, Bluma has contributed articles about hacking and social engineering to national publications like 2600 and Phrack Magazine. Their groundbreaking work on the intersection of sex work and social engineering, analyzing its linear nature, has been featured on Layer 8 Podcast and by Intel471.

Bluma has professional experience as a red team operator, specializing in testing and improving organizational cybersecurity defenses through advanced social engineering tactics and red-teaming exercises. She will flat out tell you how much she enjoys legally breaking into a company to discover physical vulnerabilities.

In her last career as a biofuel specialist, she was a collaborator with the State of Florida, and worked on farm-to-fuel initiatives, supporting farmers in growing biofuel crops for sustainable energy solutions. Feeling the need to give back to the community, Bluma founded the Empathy Matrix ( www.empathymatrix.com ). Through this nonprofit organization, she is fostering compassion and connection by encouraging random acts of kindness.
